I am here to make you successful!īecka Sykes is the Director of Transportation for Sargent School District and the Driver I have a passionate interest in helping others to accomplish their goals and sharing information that will make people better at transporting our students safely within the state of Colorado. I am involved with the CSPTA Trainers and SPED Committee, I Co-chair on the CSPTA Roadeo Committee, and now take notes for the E Board meetings as secretary.


I am also the CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) instructor, which I have been doing for 12 years. Every year my safety team and I have been invited back to instruct this program.Ĭurrently I am the Lead Trainer/CO 3rd Party Tester at Widefield SD3, which I have been doing for 16 years I love instructing and sharing my knowledge. This program incorporates imagination, coloring contest (winners receive $50 and recognition through district), hands on instruction (danger zones, Special Needs sensitivity and equipment, pedestrian, stranger danger, and bicycle safety, along with classroom instruction).

This is accomplished through an interactive safety program geared to preschool and elementary level children and parents. I work with an amazing group of people at Widefield to promote school bus safety. I was apprehensive about driving large vehicles and driving children, but found that I loved working with people and students and keeping them safe. I have been in the pupil Transportation Industry for 32 years to include 20 years driving over-the-road in the commercial side of transportation.
